Pastor

St. Stephen is a community of faith drawn together by the love of Jesus Christ for each person.

Worship is a celebration of God’s love for us in Jesus Christ. St. Stephen is a welcoming place where the heart-language of the congregation is expressed through word and sacrament along with music, praise and thanksgiving.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible We believe that the Holy Bible is God’s inspired Word, and our final authority in all matters of faith and life.
2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105

God We believe there is one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:13

Our Lutheran Heritage
We identify with the renewal movement begun in the Lutheran Reformation. Martin Luther was a priest who on October 31, 1517 posted a challenge on the church door at Wittenberg University to debate ninety-five theological issues. It was always his hope that the church would reform its practice and preaching to be more consistent with the Word of God recorded in the Holy Bible.
The term ‘Lutheran’ was deplored by the reformer and was initiated by his detractors as an insult. The church originally called itself the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession or simply the Evangelical Church.
The three tenets of Lutheran evangelicals is our adherence to the principals of Grace Alone, Faith Alone and Scripture Alone.
